Black Dog Ride Funds more Lifeline Crisis Counsellors

Shining a light onto a dark topic, Black Dog Ride's fundraising efforts will ensure more trained counsellors are available for people in crisis.

As seen on PRIME7 last night, Black Dog Ride's NSW Coordinator Wayne Amor liaised with The Dubbo Show to make Black Dog Ride their charity of choice. As a result of their hard work and the generous contributions of people in the agriculture sector, Black Dog Ride was able to gift funds to Lifeline Central West.

On behalf of Black Dog Ride, Wayne Amor handed over to cheque to Lifeline Central West's CEO Alex Ferguson for $5400! Alex said the much needed funds will help train more volunteer crisis counsellors for their Telephone Crisis Service, 13 11 14.

This means less waiting time and more support available for people experiencing a mental health crisis or suicideation, ultimately saving lives.

Wayne Amor noted the opportunity at The Dubbo Show started many conversations around depression and suicide prevention, encouraging people to talk about a topic usually silenced by stigma.
